Vintage Metro Cammell Weymann MCW Bus Body Construction Makers Plate Badge
Vintage Metro-Cammell-Weymann bus body construction plate, featuring raised lettering, a textured background and four mounting holes.
Visible wording reads:
“BODYWORK INCORPORATING
METRO-CAMMELL-WEYMANN
CONSTRUCTION”
Part of the lettering before “Construction” is has been scraped off in period. It said "Composite", I assume they used this on a metal body based bus and just scratched it out at the factory.
Used condition with surface wear, scratches, marks and a dark patinated finish.
This style of construction plate is documented on London Transport RLH buses with Weymann bodywork.
Could be from the following busses
London Transport RLH, but other Weymann-bodied buses are possible. The RLH documentation shows a plate of the same layout, with “Patented Metal” in the area altered.
